چکیده

The abstract of the above-referenced article contains errors. The corrected abstract appears here. The Bereitschaftspotential (BP) is a slow negative-going cortical potential associatedwith preparation for volitionalmovement. Studies since the 1960s have provided evidence for a BP preceding speechrelated volitional motor acts. However, the BP associated specifically with phonation has not to date been systematically investigated. The current investigation utilizes a novel experimental design to address methodological confounds typically found in studies of movementrelated cortical potentials, to demonstrate the existence and localization of generators for the voice-related cortical potential (VRCP). Using high-density EEG, we recorded scalp potentials in preparation for voicing and controlled exhalation in a stimulus-induced voluntary movement task. Results showed a slow, increasingly negative cortical

Evidence of the voice-related cortical potential: An electroencephalographic study

The Bereitschaftspotential (BP) is a slow negative-going cortical potential associated with preparation for volitional movement. Studies since the 1960s have provided evidence for a BP preceding speech-related volitional motor acts. However, the BP associated specifically with phonation [corrected] has not to date been systematically investigated. The current investigation utilizes a novel expe...

Neuroplasticity and neuromotor synergies in context of rehabilitation after stroke: a systematic review

Background: Alterations of neuroplasticity and cortical excitability are important pathophysiological factors in stroke. Modulation of the neuroplasticity has been proposed as an underlying mechanism of recovery in different neurological disorders. But it is not still clear how the CNS faces the complexity of muscle control. Neuroplastic processes may be used for the functional improvement of s...

Corrigendum to " Lateralization of the parietal old/new effect: An event-related fMRI study comparing recognition memory for words and faces " The authors have discovered a technical error in the Methods section of their manuscript. Specifically, in describing the differences between Experiment 1 and Experiment 2, the authors neglected to mention that, in Experiment 2, the stimulus duration in ...

Localization of the magnetic equivalent of the ERN and induced oscillatory brain activity

It has been found in numerous electroencephalographic (EEG) studies that a negative potential arises following an erroneous response (so-called Error-Related Negativity, ERN). This typical component of the EEG has, however, proven more difficult to identify when transferring analogous paradigms to magnetoencephalography (MEG). The aim of this study was to devise and apply a paradigm to elicit e...
